Your Vision

Have you ever hit the pause button long enough to really contemplate your life vision? Is your life unfolding intentionally or is it “just happening?” Are you at a new life stage without a conscious direction?

When our eyesight no longer provides the clarity we require to function at our best, we go to a doctor to be examined. Often, we leave the medical office with a prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses. The doctor takes the time to thoroughly check us out, using drops, lights and special equipment, to be sure the prescribed correction will indeed sharpen our vision as much as possible.

The same process is required to bring our life vision into sharp focus. When we gain clarity about what we truly want deep down inside, our days align with our authentic self. I’ve had clients who are unhappy in their careers but that is what they went to school to study, and, well, there they are. Or they get used to a very high salary and stop listening to what truly brings them joy and satisfaction. And then there are those who mapped out their life at 18 or 22 or 25, and by golly, they are sticking with it at 30, 40, 50 or 60 years of age, even though that map no longer directs them to their most joyful selves.

I recently taught a full day Vision Board Workshop, and will be repeating it in January because I saw how many of us are craving the time, space, and teaching to go deep and realize our true life vision. The workshop attendees “put it all out there.” Some still liked their career but wanted to take it in a different direction. Others were ready for a complete career change. There were attendees who were more focused on their personal lives and relationships than work, and they “dug deep” to honestly add these desires to their updated vision. No two Vision Boards were even remotely similar. Fantastic.

Is it time to sharpen your vision for yourself? Do you need a boost of clarity? Are you on auto-pilot when you could be soaring ever higher?

Asking yourself these questions is the major first step. I urge you to go beyond step one so you live with maximum joy and satisfaction.

Is it time for you to examine your vision and update your prescription? Only you can do this.
