It's All About Courage
Courage is everything in life.
Courage allows us to be ourselves rather than morph into what other people expect.
Courage allows us to make choices that are not mainstream.
Courage allows us to admit and make a change when something or someone isn’t in our best interest.
Courage allows us to speak out over injustice to ourselves or others.
Courage allows us to begin again.
Courage allows us to end again.
“But,” you may be saying, “I am not a courageous person.”
My response is twofold.
First, I call BS on you.
Have you ever changed jobs? Have you ever changed careers? Have you ever changed cities? Have you ever changed partners?
Answering yes to any of these questions tells me you had the courage to change. Whether that changed worked out well or not is irrelevant; what matters is you took a chance. That’s courage.
Second, courage is like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets.
Every time you speak up for yourself, you are strengthening your courage to advocate for yourself again in the future.
Every time you say no to something that doesn’t serve you, you are strengthening your courage to nix the useless again in the future.
Every time you try something new personally or professionally, you are strengthening your courage to experiment and grow.
It’s not always easy to be courageous, but there is no substitute. Staying in your comfort zone doesn’t grow you, and in the long run, it doesn’t make you happy, either.
You already have courage. Just imagine who you can become by growing your courage one step at a time.
The world awaits!
