Focus on What Is In YOUR Control
So much stress and anxiety comes from hoping and wishing things and people were different from what and who they are.
Hoping and wishing are not strategies.
Focus your precious time and energy on actions YOU can take to achieve the outcomes YOU want.
I write this as much of Australia is in flames. The images of this catastrophe are heartbreaking.
We shed tears for the 1.25 billion animals that have perished in the fires. That number is beyond our comprehension. Saving those animals was beyond our control.
However, there are 9.6 billion animals in the United States that are in our control to save. This is 7.7 times the number who died in Australia.
Ninety-nine percent of the 9.6 billion cows, chickens, pigs, turkeys, sheep and lamb are born and raised in horrific factory farms. The only time they see the sky is when they are sent for equally horrific slaughter. No Old McDonald here.
Furthermore, factory farming is a greater contributor to climate change – the underlying cause of the magnitude of the Australia fires – than all forms of transportation combined.
What can we do?
Stop eating animals! It’s simple supply and demand, and it’s totally within our control.
Transitioning to a plant-based diet has never been easier. I would be delighted to talk with you about it – no question is too small or silly.
So, the next time you find yourself despairing or caught in the “if only” loop, pause and ask what is in your control.
Answer that question and you’ll be on your way to less stress and anxiety, while using your time and energy where it can truly make a difference in your life or the lives of others.
